Merrell is a wife, a mother of 8, a grandmother of 1, a Florida licensed midwife and working owner of A Mother's Village, LLC. Merrell has been an advocate in her community since 2012. She has always had a passion for pregnancy and birth but when she encountered several mothers during the darkest moments of their lives who had nowhere to get the help they needed, she knew she needed to make a change. On Angels' Wings was conceived in September 2013, became a legal organization in March of 2014 and finally obtained their 501(c)(3) in September 2015. Her vision is pretty straightforward.
